ThisĀ  week I wrote about simplicity in consumer technology, particularly in regards to Apple and the new iPod Shuffle, for my Tyler the Tech Guy column in The Occidental Weekly. Here’s the article lead:

Can something really be made too simple? Well, it depends on what that thing is. In the case of a midterm exam, the answer is “no.” But, in the case of tech products, it’s more of a gray area because simplicity often comes at the expense of features or convenience.
